The Satyam scam left global IT industry confused and shocked! Apart from the slide it caused in the Indian stock markets, it also leaves the future of it’s 50,000+ employees under uncertainty! Amidst all this confusion, Mr. Ramalinga Raju surrenders himself to the Hyderabad Police one fine day. People think that it’s because of his conscience that he did this, the letters which he wrote to various authorities were the icing on the cake, which made it look like Mr. Raju was repenting for his misdeeds. But I have a few deductions to make out of the whole surrender drama, which can answer the following questions..

  1. Why did he surrender?
  2. Why did he accept his mistake of forging and inflating the figures?
  3. why did he not attend the SEBI inquiry before his surrender to the Hyderabad Police?

Well well… my conclusions are as follows….

This whole scam is a global scam, not restricted to Andhra Pradesh or India, but spread to various other countries like The U.S.A. Soon there would be cases on Mr. Raju for forgery, and it would not be long before he would be extradited to those countries, where he faces the risk of being imprisoned till death!! But clever Mr. Raju, used a loop hole in the extradition policy to save his ass!! This loop hole states that, no person, wanted by other nation for his crimes, canĀ  be extradited if he has been imprisoned in India for his crimes in his home country!! And we all know India is a place where people can easily escape laws and punishments!

And now, the question of accepting the crime… Why did he do that? Was that some act of nobility? The answer is a big NO. The whole point comes back to SEBI and its laws, which also have some loop holes. These laws say that any person who is found guilty by the laws of SEBI, can be pardoned and no punishment will be awarded if he accepts his crime! Ha!! There goes the second act to save his royal ass!!

Well the final question now. Why didn’t he go to the SEBI inquiry at Mumbai? The answer is simple, he was fearing an arrest there! So its better to get arrested in Hyderabad and use his connections to get royal treatment in the AP state’s Jails, rather than sit in a Mumbai jail and spend his rest of the life cribbing! Our Indian Laws are truly JUST.. they do justice even to the guilty, they see to it that the guilty ones are not punished more than they deserve! So there is this law, which states that, a person cannot be put under trial in two courts, for the same crime! So, now even if the SEBI guys lodge a case against Mr. Raju in Mumbai, he wont have to go to Mumbai for the trial.

That’s a well planned and a clever drama. We are very lucky that we are witnessing such a thing in our lifetime!!!! Thank you Mr. Raju, for taking our markets down and tainting us with a ‘never seen before’ scandal. You have done a very good show and now you are our daily source of entertainment!!!
